Our breeding program Choosing alpacas as livestock for our farm was a no brainer once we looked into those big soft eyes and listed to their musical humming... not to mention those cute as a button babies! Our herd includes Chilean, Bolivian, Peruvian and Accoyo bloodlines.
Our breeding program is centered on the “complete package” (rather than just a particular genetic line) with special emphasis on fiber, confirmation, color and personality. Looking at the big picture keeps us focused on the prize of a perfect alpaca. Isn’t that what we all are striving to achieve? (However, we must admit we are partial to grey, no matter what shade!) While we do attend a selected group of shows each year, our ultimate focus is achieving our breeding goals and improving our herd with each generation. We invite you to let our alpacas “show off” for you when you visit our farm.
Our philosophy We are totally committed to providing the best nutrition and health care for every alpaca in our charge. Our veterinarian, Dr. Amy Betka of Bear Creek Mobile Veterinary Services, lives nearby. She is a fantastic camelid vet and has been a virtual fountain of information about everything alpaca. Dr. Betka has been with us every step of the way since the day we brought our first alpacas home. We personally manage the day to day operations of our farm with no outside help, other than our four dogs who think they run the show! Knowing all the animals by name and personality makes it easy for us to see minor changes in the herd and eliminate any problems before they become major issues.
Our committment We are committed to raising the finest quality alpacas and providing you with the knowledge and insight necessary to enhance and encourage your success in breeding and raising alpacas. Whether you board your alpacas with us or take them home, we provide you with continuous support. Our challenge to you is to schedule a farm visit with us and then leave without having a special place in your heart for these wonderful animals.
